Clothing and Accessories: Please message me with pictures of all your outfits (send them to my Facebook business page or text me at 701-269-1329). Make sure to include a variety of clothes Having something formal and simple for studio pictures is important in creating that classic portrait. In general, simple, fitted clothes look better in portraits than loose clothes with lots of patterns. Bring accessories like hats, sunglasses, and jewelry. We may not use everything, but it is nice to have options. It's better to bring too many clothes than not enough.
Skin: A least two weeks before your shoot, practice a good skin regime. Wash face twice a day. Use a mild soap or acne cleanser. If you have a significant amount of acne, please let me know ahead of your appointment.
Hair: For guys pay attention to your next haircut. When after your haircut does your hair look the best? Schedule a cut at the appropriate time. Make sure you shave. Please have someone look you over to make sure you did not miss anything (especially on the neck).
For girls go with a style that isn't super new to you.
Makeup: :
*Do not use mineral-based makeups. They make the skin look blotchy in photos.
*Please use natural light when applying your makeup so that you can get a better idea of how it will look in pictures. An orange foundation with a white neck is difficult to correct in photoshop.
*Use makeups that produce a matte finish rather than a shine finish. Shine finish can be used for the lips.
*Concentrate on the eyes. The eyes are the key to any portrait.
Glasses: Obvious point: Glasses are made of glass. Even with an anti-reflective coating, they will produce a glare. The best way to avoid glare is to take out your lenses. Talk to your eye care provider. Some provide this service free of charge.
