Photographing a wedding is like writing a novel. On the wedding day, I document the setting, record details, flesh out the main characters, give some attention to secondary characters, and provide a structured storyline.

The main characters: That's you guys--the bride and groom.

Secondary characters: Typically these are your parents, siblings, and bridal party. At least 90% of the wedding photos will include the bride, groom, and/or secondary characters.

Please make a list of all the most important people to you at your wedding.

This is an example from my wedding day:

Is your wedding day also the day your parents are celebrating their anniversary? Does anyone in the bridal party have a disability that I should know about? Is someone performing or sharing something with you on the wedding day that you would like documented? Do you have a bossy grandma like Brian? Give me the dirt.
